Books teach us things before life does! And they help us to find the hidden gems in ourselves about which we didn’t know or were doubtful or don’t know if we are capable enough for it! They are our best confidants and source of motivation. And here are 5 books that can help you to become a better version of yourself!
1. The Diary Of A Young Girl by Anne Frank
The Diary Of A Young Girl by Anne Frank was one the first books with which I personally feel connected. Although the theme of wass was something that we can only imagine, the part where Anne wrote her raw core inner emotions, was something that resonated with me when I read it in 10th after being intensively recommended by our English Teacher. It was this book that motivated me to start writing, in a journal, diary, and in general as well. It taught me so much and I feel this book has lessons for everyone and each of us should read it(if not already).
2. My Journey – Transforming Dreams Into Actions by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam (Hindi translation- मेरी जीवन यात्रा
Dr. Kalam is a personality who is known for so many things- Scientist, President, Teacher, and whatnot! And his life works as motivation for all of us. I have read both Wings of Fire and My Journey (both in Hindi) and My Journey has taught me so much from his life incidents. From his childhood memories to his days in scientific exploration, there are lessons hidden everywhere, for each of us.
(Even if you have read Wings of Fire, do read this book. It has more life lessons, and personal connections that you are going to cherish for a lifetime)

3. Munni Monster by Madhurima Vidyarthi
Munni Monster is a children’s fiction by Madhurima Vidyarthi that shows the story of Mishti and how her life changes with the arrival of Munni. Munni, Thamma’s cousin and a patient with cerebral palsy. Although the book targets children of age 9-12 (as mentioned on Amazon) I strongly feel that this book should be read by everyone. There is so much to learn, understand, acknowledge, feel, and to be more inclusive, and to be more human.

4. Read Well, Write Well by Ruskin Bond
“Read well, write well” These were the words of the English Teacher of Ruskin Bond and this advice was the one which he took and never regretted, as mentioned in the introduction of the book. And having the same title, this book is all about how keeping the writing simple, and clear and about the things surrounding you gives life to words. Through this collection, Mr. Bond shares a few of his stories, poems, and experiences which could encourage the readers to write. This book teaches us to cherish the beauty around us and to comfort and little joy in our lives.
