My Imperfect Love is my first read by the author Niharika Jindal. I have heard a lot about her previous book “Wake up, girl!” and was excited to read her work, so when this book came, I just dive into it.
This is the story of Rhea, a girl who is all set to get the admission in London School Of Fashion through the scholarship and shares a heartwarming bond with her mother when meets Saahil, who is studying in London as well, but who cares about nothing and is burdened because of his dysfunctional family. What will happen when the world of them collides? Will the opposites attract or will leave them in a disaster? To get to know more, read the book!
I love the simplicity of the writing as well as the story. The way in which the relationship of two people having opposite personalities works is the backbone of the story, and the author has presented it with conviction, from how things work between them to when things have gone wrong and how the dynamics change, it was shown very well. The family background of both the protagonists plays a huge role in their personality, and thus was given equal importance to that part as well.
I just wished that at times when the emotional vulnerability was at peak, there were details of it rather than the time lapse and if the friendship of protagonists individually could have been explored more.
It was a very easy and light read for me and came at the best time when I was not able to read much and so, finishing it in a day felt nice. Although the book was very filmy and gave Bollywood vibes, it was fun.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking forward to reading a book which shows the details of a relationship having opposing personalities.
You can buy the book from Amazon or any bookstore near you!
