Imagine a Valley of the Great Mountains where all the best musicians reside and play music and enjoy their time and harmony of life and music together. And thus it’s natural for a young boy named Avvaiyar there to dream of becoming a musician. But to be one, he needs an instrument which he doesn’t have. One day when he was roaming in the woods, he heard a sound coming from a hollow stick having holes, and with it, he created his musical instrument and named it Flute. With his new enthusiasm and instrument, he goes to the village square and begins to play it, but is rejected by other musicians. And thus began the journey of discovering the most beautiful music. A journey that not only makes him explore the sounds and silence of nature but the music within as well. Read this book to join Avvaiyar on this journey.
The book is accompanied by some gorgeous illustrations. It not only talks about the music that our ears hear but also the music within and the music of life in a very unconventional way that makes it more fascinating and deep-rooted.
However, because of the cultural influence, I was thinking about Shri Krishna Ji while reading it which is in no way connected or influenced by the story and the story has its journey.
Overall, this is a captivating read that children will enjoy and find fascinating but even grown-ups would be able to connect with it for the passion and the music within.
